So everyone knows that fish eat, right? Have you ever seen a fish eat? You probably have because just about everyone in the world has owned a pet fish at one time in their lives. I've you've never owned a fish than you may have seen a fish eat food on the television or internet. Not everyone has seen a fish eat though, but that shouldn't matter for this fact. I'll try and add a picture so that you understand what this fact is about. So, fish eat and some fish, which are called teleost fish, and this thing called a telescoping jaw. They are able to shoot their jaw forward to snag their pray quickly before it can get away. At first, during the Late Cretaceous period, fish could only shoot their jaws up to 8.16% of their body length. Now, thanks to evolution, these fish can shoot their jaws over 20% of their body length. Apparently, these fish have had telescoping jaws for around 100 million years. That's before the dinosaurs were alive. These fish jaws have been evolving for 100 million years just so the fish can eat their food. Who even needs food anymore? Nerds. Anyway, scientists believe that the fish prey may have even had to evolve to be smaller and nocturnal, just so they didn't get eaten up. The crabs have been getting smaller and the fish are at fault! We should just kill them all like we've been doing to tigers and elephants.
